Choose to be Happy

You don’t have to be famous, just an ordinary soul
If happiness and contentment are your goal
Simply choose to be happy, even if you have less money or gold
Choose to be happy, whether you are young or old

You may not be attractive, talented, intelligent, or bold
Just like the way God made you, in an unusual mould
Life will definitely take you through Highs and Lows
But remember God will always give you a hand to hold

When luck desserts or troubles may multiply
And when money is really short awhile
Look out, there will be friends or family by your side
Be happy even if there is just one loved one to make you smile

When disaster strikes and there seems no hope
When you lose a loved one and can’t cope
Age catches on and the ailments start
Disapointments threaten to break your heart

When anger, frustration and hurt make you sigh
And life just seems all wrong
Some unexpected happiness will surely come by
If all your hope and faith haven’t gone

Look around you, there are woes aplenty
Each person is looking for happiness, at sixty or twenty
Cuddle an orphan child or hug a dear one in pain
And then you see, your life will surely change

Look deep inside you, discover yourself
Find the power that God hid there
Do that and you will need no external help
And remember, nothing works better than love and prayer

Keep believing in yourself and make your spirit strong
Then nothing can keep you down for long
Be happy ‘cause you can always love and sing
You can’t lose your inner self, should you ever feel you’ve lost everything!

A Spectacular Poem that highlights the primary emottion that in my opinion, every human being is in pursuit of.. but only a few are able to reach the promised land.

What the lack is the sense of acknowledging the Present; a gift. And through your words Manisha, you have said it all with nothing left to add.
